T-shirt to peasant top refashion with elastic thread. Before- plain t-shirt that's too big. After- I cut a little too much from the top to stay modest, took a lot off the bottom & sides. You just need elastic thread. Super easy after I figured that my sewing machine couldn't do the stitch. Electronic machines don't do elastic thread. Darn it, just gave away my old machine. I'll do more of these with all my shirts I never wear cause they don't fit.
My first free motion quilt. I messed up on one side. You can see where my fingers can go under the edge. Whoops. But it turned out well other than that side. All my crazy lines.
To help me keep track of the things I do each year, I'm gonna post some stuff I made for Christmas gifts this year. I tried to make something homemade for everyone.
Some monogrammed letter towels. I kinda wish I had used a different font for the "H" but I was doing them about an hour before I gifted them. So straight was the easiest & fastest route.
I made some scarves for my SIL girlies. Here are 3, I forgot to take pics of the 3 before I sent them out. They are made with that fun fur. Tip, don't buy it at craft stores. Keep an eye out for them at the Dollar Stores.
Some more name towels. The stitching gets easier as you go. Something like my 5th batch of necklaces. They are just too much fun. This is the website I liked for instructions. A quilt I made for my Mom. It's HUGE. It is also the most complicated thing I think I have ever made. I'm super scared to quilt it. I finished the top a good 3 or 4 months ago. I want to free motion quilt it, but need to practice on another one first. Wish me luck!
Table runners sound like fun. I would love to decorate my table, but it gets destroyed at least 4 times a day. Seems like a lot of work. But a runner, especially if I can toss it in the wash. Again, wanting one for every holiday. Instructions.
Our family consists of one Daddy (Jared).A Mommy (Jennifer). Grantman who reads, Great Nate who loves to run. Charlotte who is all girl. Elliott that can hold her own. Britton who likes to be in charge.
We love to spend time together, go to the library, camp, sports, take naps and watch movies.
Jennifer tries to keep up with this blog so the kids will have something to read and look at as adults.
I find myself surfing the internet for cute projects. When found, I would email myself a link to it so I wouldn't forget. My email was WAY TOO full of craft ideas that I didn't even remember looking at. So along came this blog to post pics of the crafts I want to do along with a link. This way I won't forget.
Eventually, when each project is done, I will post a pic of my creation. Hopefully this way I can keep my families' blog about family, not my crafting addiction.
